Functions of Welfare State

Health was defined by the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1948 as a "state of physical, mental and social well-being, not only the absence of disease or disease." It would be reformulated over time in the following way: "Health is a state of physical, mental and social well-being, with the ability to function, and not only the absence of diseases or illnesses". In 1992 a researcher expanded it adding that health should be "in harmony with the environment". Health care in all areas of life allows well-being and personal fulfillment, so that everything that affects the body will unbalance the mind and everything that damages the psyche will be reflected through the body. For too long it has been considered that we were healthy when we did not suffer from diseases, however the development of knowledge and the increase of awareness of the interconnections between mind and body, place us today in an ideal scenario to enhance all the facets that to the human being they can take him to a full state of health.


Physical Health

Maintaining a body with an optimal metabolism can be achieved with a balanced diet of carbohydrates, proteins and fats based on energy consumption and adapted to each individual. Eating healthy not only involves choosing good foods but knowing how to do it with common sense, a regular schedule with pleasant emotions, eating foods with a good mood is also related to digestion. In turn, eliminating harmful habits helps the body to better perform its daily functions. Respect the hygiene of sleep, promote quality breaks and listen to the needs of the body encourage good maintenance of machinery.

Everything that sums up in relation to body care through physical exercise will be fundamental to generate health, walking, running, swimming, practicing yoga, pilates, hiking, dancing or any activity in which one enjoys an incredible improvement in the corporal wellbeing and therefore the balance.
