NBC’s Streaming Service Peacock Has A Chocolate Cake Recipe In Its Terms Of Use - Delish

You might want to actually read company Terms and Conditions after reading this: NBCUniversal's new streaming service Peacock dropped this week, and hidden in its Terms of Use document is a "very delicious, Peacock-approved, just-like-Grandma-used-to-make chocolate cake recipe."

To find the recipe, you have to scroll halfway down the document to the ninth section called "Third-Party Authentication; Third Party Services." After a few legalities, you'll find the recipe. Sure enough, it provides you with all of the ingredients and what to do with them:

First: Gather your ingredients

• 1/3 cup of butter
• 1 cup of sugar
• 1 egg
• 2 squares unsweetened baking chocolate
• 1 cup boiling water
• 1 tsp vanilla
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1 1/3 cup flour
• ¼ tsp salt
• 1 tsp baking soda

- Preheat your oven to 325 degrees
- Grease and flour cake pan
- Cream butter, add sugar and egg, and mix thoroughly
- Pour boiling water over cut up chocolate. Once melted, drain excess water into a cup to be added later alternately with flour.
- Add melted chocolate and vanilla to the butter, sugar, and egg mixture. Then, mix together dry ingredients. Fold in wet ingredients and left-over chocolate water into the dry mixture.
- Batter will seem thin, but do not add flour.
- Pour into greased and floured pan.
- Bake 30 – 40 minutes

IMO, it seems like the only ingredient the cake is missing is copious amounts of frosting. Right after the recipe, there's a note telling the reader to enjoy the cake and feel free to share the recipe tagging @peacocktv. Then the document moves onward with a quick sign off: "And now, back to your regularly-scheduled legal document."

That's one way to liven up a boring document! I guess the hope of finding a super delicious cake recipe is one reason to sift through all of the legal stuff. That along with, you know, learning about everything you're agreeing to by using a company's platform.
